This is my blog on “Places to eat in New York City”! Being in the concrete jungle, there is a huge variety of restaurants around the city, especially in the Soho district. Since we were in Manhattan for Christmas, it was safer for us to book everything beforehand to guarantee seats. So, we did our research online, read countless reviews, and decided to try the following restaurants. They did not disappoint. Enjoy!

The Dutch
The Dutch offers a beautiful brunch menu with creative ingredients. They also offer an oyster bar with five different kinds of oysters and a variety of seafood. The steak and eggs with kimchi fried rice was absolutely delicious, although it was on the pricey side (dining in New York was expensive overall). The meat and the kimchi balanced the flavors really well. The poached eggs with toasted tomato tasted so good too. All their dishes felt well thought out and have tons of flavor. They also serve burgers, waffles, omelettes, salads and so on. I love their brunch menu!

Beyond Sushi NYC
I discovered this restaurant through a fitness blogger. What attracted me was that it is a vegan restaurant, and the creativity of their dishes was off the roof. I loved their smoked kale ravioli, and the crispy capers adds a hint of saltiness and texture. They are like the cherry on top. Of course, they are famous for their sushi so we also tried two of their sushi. They are so creamy, yet fresh and crunchy from the vegetables., and full of flavor. Most of all, they are always innovating new dishes with all plant-based ingredients. There are many different locations throughout Manhattan. Definitely worth trying out!

Catch NYC
Catch NYC is famous for their creative seafood dishes. Their wild caught snapper was so delicious and the lobster mash potatoes was the perfect complement to it. The black truffle and lemon butter sauce were perfect. The eggplant skewers were good but I thought it wasn’t worth $11 USD. They provide many good vegan options too. The pistachio vegan cheesecake was so good. The snapper dish was my favourite of the night though! The restaurant has two levels, and the atmosphere has a good ambiance, perfect for a date night!

Carmine’s
Carmine’s is a heart warming, causal Italian family restaurant. During the Winter holiday seasons, they go full on with their decorations and gives out the best holiday atmosphere. It gets very busy during the holidays, so I recommend making reservations. Their menu offers a huge variety of Italian dishes other than pasta, and the portions are huge (like a small hill). It is ideal to go with a big group of friends or family, and share the dishes. We ordered the lasagna and the clam sauce linguine, and of course, we had to pack up most of it. The food was delicious and it is comfort food for me! There are various locations around Manhattan.

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse
When you eat in New York City, you will find steakhouses all around town. Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is on the fancy side of restaurants. The Rib Eye steak was juicy and delicious! It is served on a sizzling hot plate, and the waiter serves the meat onto your plate. It was perfectly medium-rare. However, the steaks that remained on the hot plate kept cooking and by the time you get to it, they are almost well done. So it would be better to take all the steaks off the hot plate in the beginning. We also ordered a side of asparagus and a chicken salad. Overall it was a good dining experience. There are various locations around New York City. The prices range around $50-$60 for steak dishes, which is pretty standard in NYC.
